Reis, the Royal Assassin to the Royal House of Darkness and Shadow had waited for Essence, the Heir of the Chalice to grow up and become his wife only for her to be taken away by Phantom another Heir of the Chalice to be his consort.
Reis petitioned the Royal House but the Royal Advocate stood on the side of Phantom and Reis lost her. He was given compensation however in the form of being allowed to train one of their children to be an assassin for the Royal House and or a consort if he so chooses.
Reis has no idea when he grudgingly visits Phantom and Essence to give his congratulations and inspect their children he would be blessed with a vision of the goddess Mysteria. He is shocked yet relieved when Mysteria whispers for him to claim their daughter Shadowen to train and be his consort.
Reis now must wait for her to grow up and come into her magic so his claim will be sanctioned in the Royal House. But he has no idea how furious Phantom is or the lengths he will go through to keep Reis from his new consort. Once Reis fully comprehends the obsession Phantom has for his daughter, the true Heir of the Chalice, he vows not only to train her but also to protect and cherish her for eternity as his consort.

Show me the way
I've been quite busy writing the last month. I have two books almost completed. Remember I read and write more than one book at a time. I write when inspiration flows and where it's flowing.
My original plan was to get Eshe's story published first. Mostly because it's the first book I started working on with the full intent of publishing. But now that I'm looking at Reis as the first. So as I come to a close of Reis's story along with Eshe's I'm trying to decide which is the better choice to begin with.
I mean I want them both published and both have full potential to have sequels. Actually their stories are so huge and those around the characters have stories themselves. I've already thought the process through with Eshe's, but Reis... I stated his story in book 3 which is almost done. So I have book 1 and book 3 of Reis done. I'm debating on book 2 of Reis, not sure it's even necessary right now. Of course a Troll war is good stuff, I'm just not feeling the inspiration to write the war itself. That might change of course.
This weekend I wrote on book 1 of Reis, it's slowly coming to a close. I have a chapter or two left. Then I will go back and do some editing. Oddly two songs have been playing on repeat while writing this section. Blow me away by Breaking Benjamin from the Halo2 CD and Believe it or not by Nickelback from The Long Road CD
Of course Reis is the Royal Assassin and I've been writing about this aspect of him. Yet the music has also sparked several battle scenes that are better served by some other chars in a different story line in the same universe. I've declined to write on these right now because it's just marinating in my brain.
So now I'm trying to decide which should come first to be published and I swear Reis is tapping me on my shoulder saying. "Uh.. you know it's going to be me."
